FINE ART
MATERAILS AND TECHNIQUE
It is in oil I find the deepest struggle and greatest pleasure- it is a medium that I torment in, pulling at edges and moving impressions with thick strokes, building a story of the search for emotion and translation of light, color and feeling.
I adore watercolor, with its breezy elegance, its willingness to forgive, and its unexpected outcome. It breathes the moment.
I work in pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, ink as well as sculptural materials. While I shy away from acrylics, sometimes they offer what other medium can't provide.
A NOTE ON
COMMISSIONED WORK
Distinct from other creations we might collaborate on, be it print media, body art or digital works, my work in the fine arts will build upon insights, ideas and inspiration we discuss, but necessarily demands greater fluidity. In other words, I have to find my way through the process, which may require a little more flexibility and forgiveness when it comes to the final piece.
